He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Coplen and Bessie Coplen (Middleton); his wife Ethel Menzie of Argos; his siblings, Leroy, Nile, Oris Coplen, Erma Claybaugh and Vivian Coplen; and his stepgrandson Brandon Hurd.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Maze (Terry) of Sun Lakes and Amy Hurd (Dannie) of Warsaw, Indiana.; his grandchildren, Michael Maze, William Maze (Nichole), Geoffrey Bailey, Christopher Hurd (Kate) and Angela Sullivan (Ryan); his stepgrandson Dannie Hurd; his great grandchildren, Kelcie Maze, Alyson Sullivan, Cole Maze, Bryson Bailey and Jackson Sullivan; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ryan, Remington, Legend Hurd, Tristen Mwangi (Jason), Aiden Hurd, Jay Jay and Alaric Mwangi Walter.
Proceeds from the cans he donated to the pre-school kids for scholarships at the Argos United Methodist Church.
