He was predeceased by: his parents, Burdette Slater and Ila Wiemann Slater; his brother Robert Slater; his sister-in-law Emma Jo Slater; his stepson Gary Goetz; his granddaughter Sara Glaub; and his niece Pamela Jessop.
He is survived by: his wife Bette Lou Foltz Goetz; his sister Susan Wright; his brother-in-law Gene Foltz (Betty); his daughters, Patricia Glaub (Harold), Cynthia Kollar (Barry Byalick), Sandra Thompson (Garry) and Annette Eichholz; his stepchildren, William Goetz (Anne), Jacqulyn Barnhorst (Robert) and Susan Dunn (John); his grandchildren, Adam, Derek, Ashley, Samuel, Zachary, Brittany, Reginna, Michelle, Nathan, Carol, John, Evan, Daniel, Andrew, Christopher, Kathryn and Jennifer; his niece Rebecca Carter; his great-nephew Brett Carter; and his great-niece Sarah Jessop.
