He was predeceased by: his parents, Olen O. York and Nellie Ruth York (Kepler); his wife Sandra S. Stayton; his siblings, Roger O. York and Marge E. Inwood; and his children, Peggy York and Richard York.

He is survived by: his children, Karen Denney (David) of Plymouth, IN and Gary York (Shannon) of Indianapolis, IN; his grandchildren, Lindsey Bennett (Ross), Austin York (Julie) and Emily Denney; and his great grandchildren, Miles and Brooke Bennett.
