He was predeceased by: his parents, Leotas Johns and Lena Johns; his wife Cynthia Johns; and his siblings, Jerry Johns, Evelyn Mitchell, Sylvia-Jane Wheeler and Wally Johns.

He is survived by: his children, David Sloan (Crystal) and Megan Sutton (Josh); his granddaughter Savannah Sloan; his sister Toni Summers; and his niece Kelly Farmer. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
