Ruth O. Lawrence Obituary

Ruth O. Lawrence, 94, a longtime Paragon resident, passed from this life on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born Friday, January 1, 1926 in Bloomington, IN to the late Dewey and Vernal (Hackler) Walls. Mrs. Lawrence attended the Alaska Christian Church in Quincy, IN. She was a homemaker most of her life and she enjoyed gardening, reading, watching TV and was an avid collector of tigers.

On September 3, 1944, she married David J. Lawrence; he preceded her in death in 1979. She leaves behind one daughter, Darlene Stierwalt and husband, Billy of Quincy; son, Robert Lawrence of Bloomington; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition, she was preceded in death by her great grandson, Jeremy Boatright, sisters, Pearl Owings and Louise Thompson and brother, Ralph Dewey Walls, Jr. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service celebrating Ruth's life on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Mannan Cemetery in Quincy, IN.

There will be no visitation. Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center has been entrusted with arrangements. Contributions may be made to the family to help defray expenses.
