He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Snyder and Mary Snyder; his sister Mary Helen Richardson; his son-in-law Ed Garman; and his sister-in-law Martha Snyder.

He is survived by: his wife Alicia; his children, Chris Snyder (Jody) of Roanoke, IN, Doug Snyder (Amy) and Tammy Garman of Fort Wayne, IN; his siblings, Harold Snyder, Jim Snyder (Shirley) and Marjorie Runkle; his brother-in-law John B. Richardson; his grandchildren, Ryan Snyder (Melissa), Ben Snyder (Ryan), Jessie Snyder (Katherine), Drew Garman (Jessica), Cory Garman (Kelly), Paige Borman (Dan), Colin Snyder (Marissa), Jordan Henline (Haley), Joel Henline (Paige), Virgil Vanover (Ciera) and Zach Shreve (Amy); and his great grandchildren, Bayla, Madison, Grayson, Rowan, Simone, Penelope, Christopher, Brighton and Colton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
