He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gibson and Margaret Gibson (Turner); his wife Lillian; his son James Gibson, Jr.; and his grandson Corey Gibson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Judy Tucker of New Haven, Annetta Roemer of New Haven and Mona Lee Gibson of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.
