With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Ann Whitaker of New Albany, Indiana, born in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on February 9, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Alvey and Mary Alvey (Vowels); her husband Jim Whitaker, Jr.; and her sister Rose Thompson. She is survived by: her children, Jim Whitaker III (Nancy), Marilyn Crumbo (Keith) and Joseph "Russell" Whitaker (Shelly); and her brothers, John Alvey and Bernard Alvey (Brenda). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
