He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Popplewell and Audrey Popplewell (Perkins); his brothers, Rolin, Pete Jr. and Roger; and his parents-in-law, Ben and Catherine Shipley.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Shipley of Monticello; his children, Kristen Spry (B. J.) of Reynolds and David Popplewell of Monticello; his siblings, Jean Elam of Indianapolis and Rose Holt of Michigan City; his grandchildren, Audrey, Jacob, Abigale, Carly, Eli, Lauren and Sammi; and his great grandchild Lennan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, several grand nieces and nephews, and several great grand nieces and nephews.
