He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Jacob Stump and Effie Marie Rodgers; his siblings, Lester Stump, Raymond Stump, Richard Stump and Mildred Beaver; his daughter Sherry Ellen Stump; and his great grandchild Samantha Sloma.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Stump (Soule); his sons, Dennis Michael (Dawn) and James Richard (Debbie); his sisters, Lila Filippone and Wilma Curran; his grandchildren, Jamie Sloma, Chad Stump, Adam Stump of Amanda Stump, Wendy Jo Calhoun and Amy Stump; and his great grandchildren, Zachary Sloma, Abigail Sloma, Megan Sloma, Chloie Sloma, Kariann Sloma, Devon Leitch, Lily Leitch, Brena Stump, Miah Kampf, Priscilla Prairie and Hunter Prairie.
