He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Melton, Jr. and Velva Henry Melton Evans; his sons, Shawn Lee Melton and Shane Allen Melton; his brother Michael Lee Melton; and his stepfather G. C. Evans.
He is survived by: his former wife Kathy Smith; his wife Tammie Saylor; his close friend Patti Hearn of Madison, Indiana; his children, Jessie Watson (Dusty) of Madison, Indiana, Jordan Moots of Lebanon and Cody Moots of Lebanon; his grandchildren, Kiley, Xsavier, Jacob, Addison and Addriana; his siblings, Debbie Woodfill (Mike) of Madison, Indiana and William J. "Bill" Melton of Madison, Indiana; and his uncle Ron Henry of Spencer, Indiana. He is also survived by several cousins and other relatives.
