He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Kistler and Catherine Kistler (Newmyer); and his siblings, Thomas Kistler, Jack Kistler, James Kistler, Elizabeth "Libby" Smith, Mary Catherine Pumphrey and Due. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and also great great nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to All Saints Catholic Church.
