He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd R. Hults and Pearl Marie Hults (Wilson); and his siblings, Jerry Hults and Hazel Zimmerman. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Schreyer; his children, David F. Hults (Mary Lou), Kerry F. Hults (Vickie) and Karen L. Smith (Glen); his siblings, Linda Schlick and Wayne P. Hults (Mary Jo); and his grandchildren, Tonya Myers (Neil), Karla Costner (Chris), Jessica Smith, Brad Smith, Erin Nowak, Angela Townsend, Tom Henry and Todd Nowak. He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Cass County Honor Guard.
