He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur "Ray" McCollister and Lola Susan McCollister (Hopper). He is survived by: his wife Jo Anna "Jody" McCollister; his sons, John Dale McCollister (Kelly) and Frank R. "Butch" McCollister (Catherine); and his grandchildren, Cameron McCollister, Kevin and Katie McCollister.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
