He was predeceased by: his parents, Amo Lee and Myrtle Copas (Sturgeon); and his siblings, Helen McBeath (John), Marivene "Bean" Rasmussen (George), Cecil (Mary Louise), Junior, Vivian "Toots" Yarnal (Charles), Vera "Teet" Nelson (Ed), Melvin "Bud" (Betty), Chuck (Lavonne), Don (Jean) and Steve (Jan).
He is survived by: his wife Linda Copas; his sons, Kyle (Tish Riley) of Copenhagen and Casey Copas (Edie) of Lebanon; his sister Sue Logan of San Angelo, Texas; his grandchildren, Elise Copas of Dublin, Addison Copas of Edinburgh, Benjamin Copas and Drew Copas of Renssalaer; and also Teresa Sult.
