He was predeceased by: his parents, Stella Shade (Corbin) and Homer Shade; and his brother Lee Shade (Jean). He is survived by: his wife Beverly Gayler; his children, Kevin Shade (Niki) of Kokomo and Lori Erb (Darrall) of Fort Myers, FL; his brother John Shade (Beverly) of Kalispell, MT; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Douglas (Bill), Joshua Shade, Brent Shade (Melinda), James Shade, Shawn Pechin, Stacey Douglas (Josh) and Jessica Pruyne (Eric). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Jay's name may be given to Franciscan Health.
