He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond LaGard and Meridel LaGard (McLane); his siblings, Kathleen McMillian, Marilyn Humphreys, Raymond A. LaGard and Frank L. LaGard; and his half-brothers, Charles Moore and Jerry Moore.
He is survived by: his sons, Rodney LaGard (Tammy) of La Porte and Thomas LaGard (Amber) of Valparaiso; his stepson Joseph Smith of La Porte; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mallorie LaGard of La Porte, Benjamin, Hudson and Hazel LaGard of Valparaiso. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
