He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Hopf and Amelia Hopf (Sermersheim); his former wife Anna Mae Stenftenagel; his wife Preceding; and his sisters, Cyrilla Schroeder, Dorothy Bartley, Monica Schuetter and Joan Knies.
He is survived by: his children, Kanda Merkley (Greg) of Wadesville, IN, Edith "Edie" DeKemper-Chapman (Fred) of Jasper, IN, Tracey Gutgsell (Patrick), Brad Hopf (Rhonda) of Jasper, IN and Rodney "Louie" Hopf (Katrina) of Jasper, IN; his siblings, Janice Nordhoff (Bob) and William Hopf (Kathy); his brother-in-law Ted Bartley; his friend Ray "Ray J" Lechner; and his pet Clarence. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
