He was predeceased by: his parents, Burvis Columbus and Laura Maxey (Bayer); and his siblings, Merle, Jerry Joe, Russell, Les, Linda, Daisy and Phyllis.
He is survived by: his wife Carlon C. "Carla" Maxey of Holland; his stepchildren, Bill Saileau of Huntingburg and Mary Ann Smith of French Lick; his sister Faye of Colorado; and his grandchildren, Ben Wade (Celia), Corey Prickett, April and Jessica Saileau. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
