He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin A. Molthan and Clara H. Molthan (Burkamp); his wife Helen L. Miller; and his former wife Rosalyn J. Gallmeyer (Baker). He is survived by: his daughters, Julia L. and Cindy K. Molthan (Mary Elftman) of Gossport, Indiana; his granddaughters, Tayla Thorpe (Ryan) and Marissa Heine (Alex); his great grandchild Quanah Thorpe; his brother Howard Molthan (Evelyn) of Corvalis, Oregon; and his stepchildren, Carol Shoof (Mike) of Hoagland, Patty Thomas (Jim) of Wolcottville, Pam Green (Dan) of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Michael Gallmeyer of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, private family services will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church – Flatrock with Pastor Douglas Christian officiating.
