She was predeceased by: her sons-in-law, Delmore Fuelling and Ronald Edwards; her brothers, Edward Scheumann and Richard Scheumann (Eldora); and her parent-in-law Frieda Knipstein (Poehler).
She is survived by: her parents, Julius Scheumann and Rosa Scheumann (Luttman); her spouse Alvin C. Knipstein; her children, Charlotte Fuelling of Hoagland, Deborah Schull (Leroy) of Kearney, MO, Lois Susin (Larry) of New Brunswick, OH, Darrel Knipstein (Nancy) of New Haven, IN and Thomas "Tom" Knipstein (Cathy) of Livermore, CO; her brothers, Robert Scheumann (Ruth) and Alfred Scheumann (Mary); and her sister-in-law Helen Scheumann of Ossian, IN. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Alvera's family would request that memorials be given in her memory to St. John Lutheran Church – Bingen 175th Anniversary Fund.
