Hansjoerg H. Enderlin Obituary
Age 78 of Hebron, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021. Hans is survived by his wife Hermine (nee Zettlur) of 55 years; daughter Claudia (Michael) Wing; son Thomas Enderlin; grandchildren Karl & Veronica Wing; brother Dietmar (Lenka Ehnot) Enderlin; sister Renate Reichman; aunt Gertrude Enderlin; and his nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Preceded in death by parents Gustav & Frieda and baby brother Eckard Enderlin. Hans was a longtime and faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crown Point where he and his wife served tirelessly. His work as a parish council member and church greeter brought joy and laughter to many. He was a proud member and former President of Rotary International.
His love of hospitality and fellowship started in Germany. He met his wife Hermine while working in a vacation resort in the Black Forest and in search of ever greater challenges, they came to America. Hans worked in world-class five-star hotels as Hermine managed the home and raised the children. He sparked culinary programs, fed thousands, and amazed an uncountable number of laymen, famous entertainers, entrepreneurs, politicians, and dignitaries with his beautifully sophisticated creations.
It was during this this time that the seeds of Hans' great storytelling were planted. He found his way to the region and fulfilled the dream of owning his own restaurant, Ludwig's Club Cafe. Retirement brought more time but the work to do never ends. Hans will be sorely missed and we rest in knowing the Lord called his strong spirit back for a purpose only he could bear.
