He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert J. Sr. Bethe and Margaret M. Bethe (Singer); his siblings, Rita Patrice Bethe, Rose Marie Fuhs and Larry Bethe; his nephew Matthew Fuhs; and his brother-in-law Stan Schmidt.

He is survived by: his sisters, Barb Phillips (Don) of Haubstadt, IN, Mary Kessler (John) of Haubstadt, IN and Jane Schmidt of Lynnville, IN.

Donations in his honor can be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
