He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gearlds and Mimi Gearlds (Dodson); and his siblings, Nadine Thompson, William "Stack" Gearlds, Freddie Gearlds, Carolee Ford and Eulene Bean.
He is survived by: his wife Dyann Cecile Curry; his sons, Robert Gearlds (Becky) of Greenfield and Gregory Gearlds (Judith) of Greenfield; his grandchildren, Ryan, Austin, Grace and Tyler; and his brother Paul Gearlds of Martinsville.
