He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Davis Young and Freda Udell Young (Harmon); his siblings, Dale Young and Delorus Hollenbeck; and his granddaughter Jamie Lynn Gant.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Young (Carroll); his daughters, Joyce Riley (Randy) and Vicki Swinney (Robert); his grandchildren, Kathryn Bock (Tom), Jason Riley (Andrea), Cody Riley (Katie), Dezireé Swinney (Rob Jacobs), Maddison Edwards (Zach) and Tucker Swinney (Alyssa); his great grandchildren, Tyler, Skyler, Ava, Cameron and Ryder; and his sister Linda Griffith.
