He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Matthews Jr. and Jane Matthews (Falls); and his brother Dan Matthews. He is survived by: his pets, Independence and Elsa; his wife Cathy Van Driessche Matthews; his children, Jacob Matthews and Rachel Matthews; and his siblings, Tom Matthews (Carole), Dave Matthews (Gail) and Carol Matthews Zeimet (John).
