He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hughes and Constance Glass (Stone); and his son Jason Hughes. He is survived by: his pets, Lucy, Desi and Toby; his former spouse Sgt. Jason Matthews; his wife Lena Hughes of French Lick; his children, Michael Hughes (Rena) and Angie Hughes Matthews (Jason) of Birdseye; his siblings, Jeff Hughes of Dale, Debbie Byers of Petersburg and Cheryl Zeigler of Loogootee; and his grandchildren, Caleb, Maddy, Jacob, Luke Hughes and Jenna Matthews.
