He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin R. Smeltzer and Isabelle Smeltzer Jr. (Franklin); and his siblings, Gloria Ann Smeltzer, Steve Franklin, Eddie Smeltzer III and Mary Shaw.

He is survived by: his siblings, Judy Kendrick, James Smeltzer (Kathy) and Jeffrey Smeltzer; his daughter Holly Bailey (Adam); his grandchildren, Emily and Seth; and his great grandchild Kinsley Grace. He is also survived by relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 241 Honor Guard or the Northeast Honor Flight.
