He was predeceased by: his father Frederick E. Hobbs; his sister Linda Stewart (Chuck); and his grandparents, Woodrow Carter, Minnie Mohler, Frederick and Ethel Hobbs.
He is survived by: his mother Nancy Louise Hobbs (Carter) of Elwood; his former wife Rebecca J. "Becky" Dugger; his wife Rebecca Hobbs of Elwood; his children, Matthew Simpson (Kelsey) of Anderson, Malaki, Bayleigh and Alyssa; and his siblings, Carla Yost (Karl Pigg) of Peru, Michelle Scholl (Trent Hicks) of Elwood, Ann Sparks (Roger) of Peru, Katina Capps (Tommy Cox) of Peru, Bennie Humphries of Elwood, Darrell Hobbs (Debbie) of Elwood, Randy Hobbs (Mary) of Texas, Larry Hobbs (Bennie) of Texas, Murvell Hobbs (Debbie) of Florida and Kyle Hobbs (Barb) of Amboy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
