He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack L. Dowler and Betty Mae Dowler (Gwinn); his son Jacob Dowler; his former wife Theresa Dowler; and his grandmother Anna Cornwell.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Dowler of Elwood; his children, Patricia Heaton (David Barnes) of Elwood, April Casto (Brian) of Anderson, Kimberly Heaton of Alexandria, Nathan Clos (Danielle) of Elwood and Steven Clos (Melissa) of Fishers; his siblings, Nora Dye (D. J.) of Thorntown, Jerry Dowler (Karen) of Winchester, Jack Dowler, Jr. of Farmland, Chris Dowler (Tina) of Elwood and Geneva Lane (Steven) of Marion; and his nephew Dylan McGuire of Elwood. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
