He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Terry and Helen Marie Terry (Howard); his siblings, Edwin, Robert, Dwayne Terry and Mary Jane Terry; and his son-in-law Jeremy Schuh.
He is survived by: his children, Shane A. Shafer (Jessica) of Elkhart, Dawn M. Proffitt (Josh) of Bristol and Heather K. Schuh of Shipshewana; his siblings, William G. Reed of Auburndale, Florida, Shirley Wheeler of Winterhaven, Joanie Quigg (Elmer) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Patricia Evans of Bartow; his grandchildren, Crystal Murillo of Elkhart, Roger Snead of Elkhart, Kyle Snead of Elkhart, Sara Sutherland of Elkhart, Shane Shafer, Jr. of Elkhart, Brittany Bahr of Shipshewana, Bryan Schuh of Shipshewana and Bradley Schuh of Ft. Wayne; and his nephew Caleb Shafer. He is also survived by extended family and good friends.
A graveside service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 2:55 PM at the Rice Cemetery (400 James St, Elkhart, IN 46516).
Memorial donations may be given to the family in care of his wife, Sherry.
