He is survived by: his wife Odeaner Brown Abernathy; his children, Almeta Abernathy, Pamela Douglas (Cecil), Douglas Abernathy (Vavica) and Darwyn Abernathy; his sister Shirley Comer; his grandchildren, Arika Ealy (Shawn), Alexia Schell, Donovan Abernathy (Shawna), Austin Williams, Jayda Young, Caleb Douglas, Logan Abernathy (Hannah) and Noah Douglas; and his great grandchildren, Alivia, Denali, Audin, Aria, Julian, James, Jacob, Zoe, Dragan, Zion, Samya, Ja'el, Jayce and August. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
