He was predeceased by: his parents, Longino Velez and Matilde Velez; and his sister Blanca I. Sanchez (Enrique). He is survived by: his wife Alicia M. Velez; his children, Kenneth Velez (Mayra), Yvette Figueroa (John), Jeffrey Velez (Lynda) and Lisette Talaga (Greg); his sister Lydia Ortiz (late Jose); and his brother-in-law Israel Aponte. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
