He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Valdez and Maria Luisa Valdez; and his brothers-in-law, Ricardo Paz, Jefferey Frevert and Anthony Gallegos.
He is survived by: his wife Elsa Valdez; his son Leon Valdez II; his siblings, Rafael Valdez (Juana), Ruben Valdez (Maria), Teresa Frevert and Alica Paz; and his parents-in-law, Francisco Jr. Rosado (Alma), Cecilia Cruz (Eliezer), Delia Gallegos, Jose Rosado (Trina) and Patrick Rosado (Angela). He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces, as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces.
