He was predeceased by: his parents, Felix Carranza and Margarita Fernandez-Mendoza; and his siblings, Adela Carranza, Emiliano Carranza, Tomasa Carranza, Bernardo Carranza and Maria Carranza.
He is survived by: his wife Georgina Carranza Torres Ramos; his children, Josefina Carranza, Celina Godinez-Carranza (Rigoberto Godinez), Gumildo Carranza-Avina, Rosaelia, Angela Carranza, Jose Carranza Jr. (Linda) and Felix Carranza (Aquilina Cruz-Lopez); and his grandchildren, Rogelio Valencia-Carranza, Ivette Herrera-Godinez, Rigoberto Godinez Jr., Erik Godinez, Jovanny Godinez, Karina Martinez-Miranda, Giselle Miranda-Carranza, Jocelyn Miranda-Carranza, Veronica Miranda-Carranza, Nazareth Irene Carranza, Belen Cruz Carranza, Galilee Miriam Carranza and Judea Kristi Carranza. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jose's name to the family.
