He was predeceased by: his spouse Jean M Byerly; his granddaughter Rebekah Byerly; his brother James Byerly (late Laverne); and his parents, James Benjamin and Margaret Mary Byerly.
He is survived by: his children, John L. Byerly Jr., James R. Byerly (Donna), Barbara J. McNeely, Mark D. Byerly, Ann Therese Hyzy and Jacqueline Byerly; his grandchildren, Colin Byerly, Jessica Pulliam, Brad Smith, Todd Smith, Benjamin Byerly, Brandon Hyzy, Matthew Byerly, Thomas McNeely and Alexis Hyzy; his great grandchildren, Augustus, Kiera, Blake and Scarlett; and his siblings, Jeanne Moeller (Robert), Joan Linnane (Thomas) and Jerry Byerly (late Rosemary).
