It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charley Akers (Deputy, Indiana), born in Seymour, Indiana, who passed away on June 5, 2019, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Akers and Bessie Akers (Smith); and his siblings, Billy, Gary, James "Buddy" Akers, Clara Campbell, Wanda Grigsby, Debbie Owsley and Joyce Plersinger.
He is survived by: his wife Carma Akers of Deputy; his children, Joey Akers of Seymour, Tommy Akers of Austin, Edward Akers of Scottsburg, Jeremiah Akers of Deputy, Tina Ebershauser (Donnie) of Madison, Bessie McIntosh of Crothersville, Hannah Ebershauser (Jeremy) of Austin and Victoria Akers of Deputy; and his siblings, Paul Akers (Diane) of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Josie Sawyer (Ronnie) of Retreat, Sherry Caldwell of Scottsburg and Janita Pennington of Scottsburg. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Bethany Baptist Church.
