He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Hardel and Paul Hardel. He is survived by: his sister Elvira Bard; his wife Beverly Hardel of Crown Point, Indiana; his children, Debbie Seefeldt (Don) of Westfield, Indiana, Tom Hardel (Ruth) of Naples, Florida and Dan Hardel of Valparaiso, Indiana; his grandchildren, Whitney Rojas (Freddy), Kristin Hansen (Max), Taylor Miller (Josh) and Paige Hardel; his stepchildren, Karalee Manning (Chuck) of Chesterton, Indiana, Rebecca LeRoy of Schererville, Indiana and Heide Fallin (Todd) of Leesburg, Georgia; and his stepgrandchildren, Kristi Soto (Robert), Sharon Otos (Kenton), Austin Schmidt (Brooke), Colton Schmidt, Josie Brown (Dylan), Shelbi LeRoy, Meaghan Fallin, Savannah LeRoy and Derek LeRoy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and 11 great-grandchildren.
