Ellen Rose Gabrielse Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellen Rose Gabrielse of Crown Point, Indiana, who passed away on December 14, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Steve Gabrielse; her siblings, Harold DeJong (late Marion), Rich DeJong (late Ida), Kay Molendyk (Ed) and Pearl Wiltjer; and her parents, George H. DeJong and Rose DeJong.
She is survived by: her children, Gerald Gabrielse (Ellen), Robert Gabrielse (Arla), RoseAnn Engbers (Lance), Iris Huisenga and Susan Schutten; and her siblings, Wilhelmina Jabaay (late Merv) and Jim DeJong (Shirley). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
Due to increasing covid risks once again, the family decided that the traditional funeral visitation and memorial service would not be held, but that a brief outdoor graveside committal service at the cemetery will be held on Saturday, December 18, at 1:00 pm at the Oak Ridge Cemetery just west of Lansing, Illinois.
