He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Schmidt and Eunice Schmidt (Glassman); and his sister Janet Yagelski. He is survived by: his wife Judy of Sheridan, IN; his children, Jim Schmidt, Laura Schmidt, Lucy Black and Jill Schmidt; his grandchildren, Zachary, Bruce, Daniel, Jaclyn, Kate and Will; and his great grandchildren, Maddox, Henley and Naomi.
Donations in lieu of flowers in memory of Lyle can be designated to the following organizations: Ducks Unlimited Sugar Creek Chapter.
