He is survived by: his wife Mary June Hicks Darkis; his children, John William Wheeler of Vallonia, IN, Vera Bevilheimer of Franklin, NC, Wilma Jean Charnes (Richard) of Vallonia, IN, Anita Smith of Seymour, IN, Billie June Marshall (Donnie) of New Pekin and Virginia Perez of Indianapolis, IN; and his siblings, Charles "Chuck" Darkis of Norman, IN, Herbert "Roger" Wheeler of Vallonia, IN, Hubert Wheeler of Florida, Patty Wheeler of Vallonia, Margie Darkies of Freetown, IN, Diane Wheeler of Texas and Seventeen. He is also survived by Seventeen grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
