He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Elvin, Romilda Merida, Lloyd and Arbutus Rees; his uncle Michael Rees; and his niece Zoe Merida.
He is survived by: his parents, Darryl Merida and Linda Rees Merida; his wife Rachel Kemp-Merida; his son Joseph Merida; his stepson Joshua Bates; his stepgrandchildren, Keri, Kayla, Nathaniel and Makenzie; his siblings, Susan Merida and David Merida (Sarah); his aunt Sherri Glover (Mike); his uncles, John Hoy and Frank Rees; his nieces, Emma Merida and Jazlyn Hall; and his nephew Finn Merida.
