He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Wendell and Edith Eckstein Wendell; and his wife Mary. He is survived by: his sons, Bill Wendell of Columbus and Jim Wendell (Kirstine) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and his siblings, Robert Wendell (Joyce) of Hillsboro, Jean Staley of Lawrenceburg, Ruth Beetz (Don) of Sunman, Lou Wendell (Diane) of Oldenburg and Shirley Tucker (Warren) of Jonesboro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
