We are sad to announce that on October 12, 2023, at the age of 80, Ray Zeigler (Columbus, Indiana) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ray Zeigler to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Zeigler (Nicholas) and Ellsworth Harold Zeigler; his siblings, Thomas Zeigler (Eleanor), Harold "Itch" Zeigler and Deborah Zeigler; his nephew Allen Zeigler; and his niece Alice Zeigler.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cathne Elizabeth Holliday (Rob) and Emily Thomas Doak (Brian); his wife Sharon Avery Zeigler; and his grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Holliday, Hannah Grace Holliday, William Miles Holliday, Hunter Nicholas Doak and Addison Avery Doak.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation to support teacher grants or First United Methodist Church in Columbus, Indiana.

“Ray was a special guy. I don't think Ray ever met a stranger... he always said "Hi". I worked for BCSC and served on the bargaining committee for the TA's and later the secretaries. Ray was our champion. He helped us stand up for equal treatment. We saw the results of his labor. BCSC employees would receive the same benefits (Insurance and raises) as the teachers.”
