Pinkie Alberta Jackson Obituary
Pinkie Alberta Jackson, 97, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Jackson was born April 11, 1926, in Franklin, Indiana, the daughter of Hulda N. and Bertha Rice Golden.
Pinkie retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1985 after 15 years of service.
She was a member of God's House Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Jackson and Mart (Tracy) Jackson both of Columbus; grandchildren, Rikki (Kenney Summers) Shrader, Martin Jackson, Brea Jackson, Chris (April) Jackson, Loren Krieg, Quisha Jackson and Gage Shrader; several great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Walter Golden of Franklin, Jack Golden of Indianapolis, Charles Golden of California and Carolyn Starks of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert W. Jackson; brothers, John, Bill, Mike and James Golden; and sisters, Jean Golden, Barbara Shannon and Dorthea Shelton.
The funeral service will be held a 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Bishop Johnnie Edwards and Deacon Joe H. Tucker officiating.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. to time of service Tuesday.
Following the service, cremation will take place.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, where her cremated remains will be laid to rest next to her husband.
