He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph V. Taylor Sr. and Shirlette Dewar Taylor; and his sister Betty Cheatam. He is survived by: his daughter Crystal Self (Daniel); his granddaughters, Cara Blocker, Erica Montelione (Greg) and Kayla Hunnicutt; his great grandchildren, Marley, Eli, Gray, Ella and Casey; and his sisters, Corinne Carr (Max), Kay Harrison (Sam) and Anna Hoskins.
