He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry J. Schaper and Bessie Irene Schaper (Moore); and his siblings, Sue Ann Zent, Alice Joy Adams, Esther L. Donavan, Ruth Miner, Michael Schaper, Jerry Schaper and Paul Schaper.
He is survived by: his spouse Starr Rosenogle; and his children, Patrick A. Schaper (Mary) of Albion, Tina L. Elliott-Longacre (Tim) of Churubusco, Lisa R. Richmond (Phil) of Columbia City, Joni L. Smith (David) of Columbia City, Shari L. Shively (Brian) of Columbia City, Timothy W. Schaper of Columbia City and Robert R. Schaper (Stacey) of Columbia City. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
