It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Dean Schaefer of Columbia City, Indiana, born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, who passed away on February 10, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Schaefer and Ellen Schaefer (Knight); and his siblings, Penny Hoag, Gary Schaefer and Russell Schaefer.
He is survived by: his brother Joe; his siblings-in-law, Jodi Schaefer and Jerry Hoag; and also Judy Durnell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other close family members.
Memorial donations may be given in memory of Dick to The Woodlands Senior Activity Center or Humane Society of Whitley County.
