He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Shaw and Henrietta Shaw (Horn); his wife Shirley Keplinger Deem Shaw; and his siblings, Melvin, Merlin, Brenda Howard (Shaw) and Sara Catherine Tracey (Shaw).
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Beth Bowditch (Brad) of Fort Wayne and Darrin Deem of Auburn; his stepgrandchildren, Nick Ireland (Samantha "Sam") of Fort Wayne, Corinne Bowditch of Auburn Hills, MI, Justine Bowditch of Indianapolis and Duncan Bowditch of Fort Wayne; and his sister Judy Doehrman (Shaw) of Angola. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
