He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Woodrow Cassida and Melva Pauline Cassida (Dyar); and his grandparents, Jesse, Nellie Cassida, Joseph and Grace Dyar.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Plew; his children, Glenn Cassida and Deanna Young (Johnny); his grandchildren, Kendra and Dalton Young; his brother Max Cassida (Kelly); his brother-in-law Bill Plew (Phyllis); his nephews, Mark Middleton (Aubrey), Adam Plew, Bart Cassida (Amy), Kevin Cassida, Keith Cassida (Stormy) and Kraig Cassida; and his uncles, Dick Dyar of Spencer and Red Smith of Quincy.
